Portrait Photography Mother and Child
I’ve just found these photographs I took in the summer of my lovely daughter Kerry and my granddaughter Holly.
I think family portrait photography is special if you get it right and normally I hate posed for photos, but the first one of Kerry and Holly is really nice.
I attempted child portrait photography for the first time on Sunday just gone as I took some photos for my sister, who wanted them to look very professional. Click here to see those photographs. I found that a photographer has to have a lot of patience for photographing children and they have to be having fun. The photograph of Holly below is a snap shot, in fact, all of them here are snap shots, but there’s something I like about this one, even though she’s looking at the ground.
Finally, I’m getting this one printed for the living room wall. I just adore this photograph because it shows how close they are and it’s not posed for.
Coming up in a couple of weeks, a friend of mine has booked my photography services to photograph her children who range from the age of 6 to 21. You will have to wait and see how I get on with that, but I’ve already had suggestions that I should pose them like the Addams Family haha! I would love to, but I don’t think my friend would like that.
Child Portrait Photography
My sister has been asking me for weeks if I will photograph my nephew, but until today, something has prevented us from doing so, either the weather or Josh not being well or falling asleep.
I’ve never done child portrait photography before, but I told my sister in advance that it is essential that Josh who is 2 yrs old is performing an activity that he enjoys as I can’t stand photography where the subject is posed, unless of course I’m doing horror portrait photography. So although it was a tad on the chilly side, we set off to the local nature reserve and below are the results. I really like the autumn tones in the photographs below and I know that the prints will look good on the wall and I’m quite pleased with my first attempt.
This one of Josh with his Buzz Lightyear wellies on playing in a puddle is my favourite.
