Vamped By Trans1
In October 2008, an artist who goes by the name of Trans1 was inspired by my gorgeous face (below) to paint an entire wall somewhere in London for Halloween. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about this wonderful and talented artist, but he does do other vampire portraits. To view them and his other work, please visit his website http://www.trans1.co.uk

Favourite Horror Portrait of 2011
My favourite horror portrait of 2011 features Melanie from the North West in England.
It was so much fun meeting Melanie who was dressed as a Burlesque vampire and although the one pictured above wasn’t Melanie’s favourite, it sure is mine. I like the pose and facial expressions. Melanie chose another portrait for her large poster print and if you would like to pose, click here for more information.

Burlesque Vampire Photographs
When Melanie contacted me enquiring about my horror portrait service, I jumped at the chance to take portraits of a burlesque vampire, but I was also intrigued and wanted to know more.
On your portrait, you’re dressed as a burlesque vampire. What is it about vampires that you like so much?
I’m doing the vampire walk at Printworks, last year it was zombie so when I found out it was vampire this year I was very excited. I’m not sure why I like vampires so much. I’ve always loved a good vamp film and if it counts, Count Duckula was one of my favourite cartoons in the 80′s. There’s something very seductive about a vampire, unless it’s sucking your blood. The idea of a being of human form with immortal powers with a gory twist.
Normally, I don’t take horror portraits of people wearing face paint, but as you have a face painting business, it is appropriate for you. Please can you tell my readers about the face painting service you offer, areas covered and how to contact you?
I have been face painting for a year as a business and previous to that just friends and family on odd occasions. I cover the whole of the North West (England, UK) and I am available for hire for parties catering for children, adults and individual sessions. I do mainly children, but my heart is in the horror stuff. People see face painting as a thing for children and that’s it, but you can do so much with face painting. So give it a try.
Finally, can you please tell my readers about your horror portrait experience and if you would recommend it to others?
Really enjoyed it and trying to choose out of 80 odd pictures was so hard. I can’t wait to get them tweaked and have the other dilemma of choosing one! I have no doubts it will look amazing on my wall.
If you would like to book Melanie for a face painting party (requires a couple of weeks notice), her contact details are below and if you would like to help her choose which horror portrait is the best one to be made into an A2 print, feel free to comment below.
