Hidden Demons and Horror Portrait Photography

What will your soul say about you?

Below is a small collection of some of my favourite horror portraits of some people who dared to pose for me and my lens.  One of them is a self portrait and I’m often asked if my subjects wear any type of makeup.  The answer is no!

I allow the camera to reveal their inner demon and if you don’t have the soul of a vampire, witch, zombie or even a werewolf, your crazy or evil side will be revealed.

To take a successful horror portrait, the subject must be relaxed and be willing to get into the spirit of things.

Most of all, they must be willing to have a crazy time…

Or why not play hard to get?

Uncle Terry was my first ever model and yes he’s my crazy uncle who I love dearly.  His crazy pose inspired me to start taking horror portraits and the rest speaks for itself.

Once I’d finished with Uncle Terry’s soul, I claimed my nephews below.  I remember taking one of his mother and it was that shocking that it’s forbidden to ever be shown.  My sister cannot look at it, as it freaks her out and I respect her wishes.

There’s lots more to be seen within my horror portraits gallery that can be viewed by clicking here > Horror Portrait Gallery

Honestly, I can swear that none of the models above were harmed in any way during their monstrous session and I do offer this as a service.  The portrait can then be presented in a large poster like the ones above (you choose the text) or in a horror cameo pendant.  For more information, please click here to read about my Horror Portrait Service or look out for me at horror events in the future, but remember, you must be willing to play the game or else…….

How would you like a 16×20″ horror poster of you appearing in your own fantasy horror movie?

These horror movie posters make an excellent gift and you can provide your own text.  Also if you don’t want a large poster, how about a cameo necklace that showcases your horror portrait?  For further information, click here.

In order to have one, you must be willing to sit and pose for your portrait.  I will then do my magic and present you with a sample so that final amendments can be made prior to printing.

The cost is £55 which covers the sitting fee and the print being posted.

If you would like further information, please get in touch to arrange a booking.

The Bat Pendant by Mermaids Tears

Bat Pendant by Mermaids Tears

The above bat pendant has been specially created for me by the very talented Mermaids Tears Jewellery.

I was really taken with Mermaids Tears jewellery store as there are so many beautiful pieces of sea glass jewellery in various colours.  I wanted something different, something a bit more Gothic so I approached Bett who is the artist and asked her for a pendant with a bat and look what she came up with.

You could have a special order pendant like this for $30 to $34, which is a complete bargain!

Further Information about Mermaids Tears Jewellery

The information below is taken from Bett’s store and it explains what Mermaids Tears represents, which I find fascinating.

mermaid Sea glass or Mermaid’s Tears as it is also known is a wonderful natural creation filled with magic, legends and an air of mystery.

Perhaps that piece of cornflower you twirl between your fingers originated as a Victorian poison bottle tossed into the sea by some cloaked woman hiding in the shadows trying to eliminate all traces of her dastardly crime. That rare regal red that you have plucked from the sand could have been a lantern from a notorious pirate vessel lost to the sea now lurking in the mists near some forgotten shoreline.

The legend of Mermaid’s Tears says that the tears (or sea glass) were created by mermaids who sobbed for the tears of sailor’s lost at sea. As their tears hit the water, they turned to these magical pieces of frosted glass.  Lovingly nurtured by the ocean; tossed and churned; pounded by surf and rumbled across pebbles to create an amazing piece of beautiful history.

Know that my jewellery is made, keeping all these things in mind and created with love, magic and wonder of nature’s grand powers. Each piece is as original and unique as the one who buys it. The lovely story of Mermaid’s Tears is included with every purchase.

Horror Photography Designs

Recently I’ve been helping out friends on and off the Internet promote their sites/projects with my designs that mostly feature my photography.

Anything Horror

Scott Boyer is the webmaster for http://www.anythinghorror.com and as a favour to him I designed him a new header image for his blog so that it would match the ‘Horror Eye’ business card he purchased from my Zazzle store.

Vault of Horror

Brian Solomon is the webmaster of ‘The Vault of Horror’ who recently showcased my photography together with an interview.  As a thank you I designed Brian a new header image featuring the zombie portrait of Kerry as he told me that he really liked that image.

Edinburgh Horror Tours

Steve Owen contacted me asking to use the Hag image on his promotional material for an upcoming ghost horror tour in Edinburgh.  As an extra I designed the image below.

A M Esmonde – Darkest Moons

Aaron gave me the following brief for a design that would possibly be used on the book cover of his upcoming novel ‘Darkest Moons’.  I only had one suitable image to play with, which can be seen here.

‘I’m after a half moon in a night sky behind a woman’s face.  One half cast in shadow but you can see a yellow eye and the outline of a wolf.  So basically merging two faces, with one normal side and wolf side in almost darkness.  Can you work your magic on this?’

This is what I came up with and below that is the finalised version with text added by Aaron.

Vicki Death’s Blog

Vicki who is a fantastic artist wanted help with a header image design for her blog that featured her artwork.  As Vicki always helps promote my photography work on Twitter, it was no trouble whatsoever to help out a friend.
