Interview by Paradise of Horror

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Recently I was interviewed by Rick, the webmaster of Paradise of Horror for his Paradise Profiles section.

Paradise of Horror is your tropical gateway to horror and mayhem and I’m sure you will enjoy Rick’s in-depth articles as well as reading our interview.

Rick, stated the following in relation to our interview..

Today, I had the pleasure of talking to somebody that I met online and after checking out her website and her photography I was entranced into it. The noir-ish qualities of her photography capture my eye and I wanted to know more about her. Much like her, I too am attracted to that architecture and quietness of cemeteries so i knew we had something in common. Below is my ‘interview.’
Note: This was such a great interview and she told me some very powerful things and this was by far, one of the best interviews that I conducted and it was so hard for me to edit this interview.

I don’t know why, but I felt compelled to be totally open and honest when answering Rick’s questions.  I hope you will enjoy the interview and feel free to comment or ask me or Rick anything you want.

Holly Christmas

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I’ve waited for years for it to snow like it has to take photographs in a snowy cemetery and now that it has, I can’t get out to take advantage of it. BAH BLOODY HUMBUG!

I WANT TO GO TO THE CEMETERY!!!!

IMG_0009smallThe reason is that last night on the 22nd of December, little Holly arrived weighing in at 7lb 12oz.  I’m now officially a grandma and my time will be taken up helping my daughter.

Isn’t she a beauty?

Hopefully she will be coming home tomorrow and I am excited, so if I’m being honest, I don’t mind too much that I can’t visit the cemetery.  I bet you any money that as soon as I’m able to visit, the snow would have melted and then I’ll have to wait another 50yrs, ‘she says sarcastically’.

I don’t like the word ‘grandma’ or ‘nana’ or ‘granny’ or ‘grandmother’.  In my mind they represent grey haired women who sit around knitting and looking forward to spoiling their grandkids with sweets and cake.  I’m not even 40yrs old!  I need a modern name that sounds good or else I will have to stick with ‘granny Mandy’.  Hmmm!

Any ideas on a modern name?

Winning Cemetery Photograph

I think that you will agree that her photograph captures the atmosphere of a cemetery and the composition draws you into the various headstones.

Thank you to all those who entered!
