Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders VIP Launch Party

Gone Shooting Films presents an industry first with the ‘Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders’ online debut, animated prequel cartoon and interact V.I.P launch party this June 19th 2010.

From Manchester to Cannes to New York and back again ‘Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders’ has screened across the globe, winning the award for ‘Most Original Film’ at the Horror UK film festival. Receiving worldwide critical acclaim alongside a growing online fan base, the film hailed as ‘A British Hellboy’ by Joblo.com is now set to begin a new chapter with its online debut only at www.archangelmurders.com

To mark twelve groundbreaking months for the independent horror/comedy film, three special events are planned.

First up on June 19th the double award winning ‘Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders’ will appear online in full for free, for the first time since hitting the festival circuit back in June 2009. The film will only be available at the official website.

On that very same night an interactive V.I.P. launch party will be held at Base Bar Cafe in the heart of Manchester to celebrate the films online launch and achievements to date. The event will be completely interactive and promises multi-camera live streaming with interactive Q&A’s allowing online viewers to take part by submitting questions via official Mark Macready Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Interactive V.I.P Launch Party guests will get an exclusive world premiere screening of Mark Macready: Underworld Tales, a brand new animated prequel movie scheduled for its online debut this June 26th. Executive Produced by Ryan McDermott & Paul Feeney and Directed by Gavin Johnson this brand new Mark Macready story aims to shed more light on the supernatural underworld that plagues the city of Manchester.

The interactive V.I.P Launch Party will be hosted by BBC Manchester’s very own Adam Brown and will feature a screening of the double-award winning comedy/horror short ‘Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders’.

Finally prepare to be dazzled by a live routine from Manchester’s leading burlesque troupe ‘The Glitter Kittens’ reprising their devilishly delicious roles as the ‘She-Snakes’.

Interactive V.I.P. Launch Party guests will gain access to Mark Macready themed cocktails, goodie bags, merchandise, never before seen outtakes, on-hand ‘red carpet’ interviews with the films cast and crew plus the official scoop on the in-development Mark Macready feature film.

‘DEARLOVE’ I think is very appropriate for Valentine’s Day.

To me it states that two people’s love will last an eternity.  The photograph above proves this as the headstone was just laying there amongst the grass covered in light debris until I stumbled across it.  Someone’s love has stood the test of time and will continue to do so, unless of course it is a surname?

HALLOWEEN LAUNCH FOR HORROR FESTIVAL

Blood, guts and the utterly perverse. A Horror revival is hitting the UK with a vengeance so prepare to be taken to hell and back.

Grimm Up North is the first horror festival of its kind in the Northwest. It will showcase the very best in horror films, video gaming and merchandise at the PRINTWORKS Manchester.

Nothing before has been as big, as bold and as bloody.

There is a spine-chilling line up in store. Discover the hot new wave of British horror films. Watch freaky foreign frights, creepy classics and new US studio releases. They’ll be red carpet movie premieres and special guest appearances from stars and directors.

More movies are being added by the day but here are just a few of the highlights so far.

We are proud to announce that our opening film will be a gala premiere of The Descent 2, prior to its release in December.

To celebrate Printworks record breaking zombie walk attempt, we’ll be screening Romero’s classic Dawn of the Dead, just prior to it’s UK Bluray release and Marc Price’s micro budget shocker, Colin, helping to launch it’s UK cinema release.

Other blood curdling screenings not to be missed include the UK premiere of Manchester produced shocker, Splintered staring renowned Liverpool actor Stephen Martin Walters (Franklyn, Layer Cake) Also showing; Johnny Kevorkian’s The Disappeared, an urban mystery horror starring none other than Tom Felton know for his performances as Draco Malfoy Harry Potter . We’re also proud to present the UK premiere of Autumn, a new zombie movie based on David Moody’s renowned book of the same name, starring Dexter Fletcher (Lockstock, Layer Cake, Hotel Babylon)

We’ve a brace of full-on frighteners from Down Under, supernatural stalk and slash, The Ferryman, and the British premiere of Writer/Director Kate Glover’s Australian Outback take on the teen party massacre movie, Schooner of Blood.

US premieres include The Graves (With Tony Todd of Candyman fame), not released in the UK until Jan 2010. A special screening of Glenn McQuaid’s comic horror, I sell the dead to celebrate its UK DVD release. The film stars Stockport’s very own Dominic Monaghan (X-Men Origins: Wolverine; Lost; The Lord Of The Rings trilogy) and Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman.

Heading up the Foreign Frights section is the UK premiere of Juraj Jakubisco’s Bathory, which takes an unflinching look at the life and legends of Elizabeth Bathory, basis for Hammer’s infamous Countess Dracula. Staring Anna Friel. Well also be showing bizarre Japanese gore fest, Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl. We’ve also got Strigoi, recently described as ‘the Coen Bros do vampires in Romania!’

Not only will the weekend feature horror films, attendees will have the chance to check out props and prosthetics from the movies – a delight for any horror buff.

A Zombie ball, Halloween Horror Hunt and bloodcurdling entertainment through out the weekend will keep visitors busy between gory screenings. There will also be a horror fair with plenty of ghastly merchandise available.

Finally, ZOMBIE AID 2 kicks off on Sunday with what is expected to be a record breaking ‘walk of the dead’ through the streets of Manchester!

Rachel Richardson-Jones, festival organiser, said: “GRIMM UP NORTH will present a diverse cross section of today’s most interesting and anticipated horror films. We are confident there will be something to satisfy the tastes of all the horror fans out there.”
