The Conjuring Horror Movie Review

From the director James Wan (Saw and Insidious) comes the The Conjuring and when I heard the trailer on the radio and heard that it was only certificate 15, I thought it would be a let down as so many modern horrors are these days.

The Conjuring

I take my words back as I was TOTALLY FREAKED out!

This film, based on a true story about a family being haunted by a witch who eventually possess the mother to attempt to kill her children is really good.  It’s just like the original horror movies, like The Exorcist and The Entity to name but a few and it delivered the same scare factor.  Do you remember when you were a kid/teenager and you watched a scary movie and you was left on the edge of your seat hoping that no demons would come and visit you in your sleep?

I watched the late night showing that finished at midnight and I was worried about the drive home with my boyfriend Mark in case something should jump out in front of the car.  I then get home and Mark decides to try and tell me about his demonic experience when doing nights in a hostel and I shut him up straight away.

The Conjuring has an excellent exorcism scene, which will have you on the edge of your seat and the acting, photography and make-up of the witch is terrific.

If you like your old horror movies, then do watch this at the cinema for added effect.  I lost count of how many times I said to Mark, ‘would you really do that and not just get out of the house?’

If you’ve seen the film, what are your thoughts about it?
